If you haven’t checked out zappos.com now is the time! This is the story of a fanatical, successful entrepreneur who out of frustration when searching for a pair of shoes founded an online shoe store in 1999. That year he had no revenue. The next year, he posted $1.5 million in sales, and recently sold to Amazon for $1.2 billion. The secret: Wow the customer with service. I can’t seem to find any customer complaints online, anywhere. Interesting philosophy: new hires who complete their orientation and training but do not seem committed to the customer service culture, are offered a buy-out to just leave. In other words, if you don’t seem to get it or don’t seem to fit in, the company will pay you to go away.
