Entrepreneurs with vision

So much happening in entrepreneurship at UTSA. I don’t think even those who are making it all happen understand everything happening.
Six teams via for $100K purse in the CITE $100K New Venture Start-up Competition: December 4, downtown campus. The products? The industries are hunting, racing, security, solar energy, medical device, and transportation.

Six teams present their business feasibility studies November 30 and December 2.

And the entrepreneurship club CEO is gearing up for a campus-wide Entrepreneurship Fair in the spring.

Many students are coming forth saying that a student incubator is needed. We have the Roadrunner Incubator, and beginning in the spring, we will make certain student entrepreneurs have more space! (More on this later.)

And finally, I can’t contain my personal excitement for my son and his website Yardsellr.com. He just received $5 million of funding from Accel Partners, after Harrison Metal gave seed money. (Read the Tech Crunch story) As I’ve always said, investors don’t invest in the product, they invest in people, and Daniel Leffel is someone to watch. (Not just because he’s good looking and my son.) I wish I could say he got his smarts from me, but ever since he was 5, I’ve been learning from him!
